Testimonials

"Excellent beyond imagination"
Yangsum Farm is truly such a treasure! My husband and I stayed here for 3 days and all I can say is that I wished we could have stayed for months! Thendup and his family are such fantastic hosts. I will try to give a summary of what makes this place so great. Rooms: We stayed in the stand-alone cottage with upstairs balcony and the room was so beautifully designed. But the other rooms were equally beautiful. Which room to choose is more a matter of personal preferences.

Cleanliness: Extremely clean rooms, linens and towels Food: Very delicious Sikkimese cuisine. Good variety so that you don't eat the same thing twice Scenery: Fantastic views of Khenchenjunga and peaks of the Eastern Himalayas range on a clear day Efficiency and knowledge: Thendup was extremely efficient in organizing our treks and arranged a most wonderful guide (Tseten-la)and a superb driver for us (very important as road conditions can be challenging). He was always very prompt with his replies and extremely patient in answering my thousand and one questions. This place is truly heaven on earth that one should try to visit. For me personally, this was a great spiritual retreat. I'll never forget sitting on the rock at the lookout during sunrise and seeing all the mountains in their glorious splendor. Thank u Yangsum Farm & Sikkim for giving me this perfect experience!

"A friendly and tranquil retreat"
Thendup and Pema offer wonderfully warm hospitality in their home and surrounding cottages, set on their lush hillside farm. We enjoyed the very wide variety of dishes, prepared using the freshest ingredients, many organic and many from the farm itself. The accommodation is comfortable and homely. We enjoyed just watching fireflies from our balcony or setting off on one of the several walks to surrounding farmland and monasteries.

"Lovely farmstay, with some extras!"
My partner and I just spent a very nice day and evening at Yangsum Heritage Farm. We arrived in time for lunch, and we were given our choice of the accommodations still available, so we were able to choose the charming cottage, with a red flowering vine growing over the entranceway, and a second story deck with two lounge chairs. The food at lunch and dinner was very good, served in the spacious dining hall, featuring vegetables and fruits grown organically right there at the farm. Unusual for home stays, the cottage room was very spacious, with sufficient lighting, and with plenty of hot water in the shower, too! Our sheets were clean, and the towels were also better than the norm. This homestay is located in a quiet landscape near Rinpocheng Monastery, with plenty of day hikes and village walks available in the area. If you come here not expecting the comfort and luxury of a good hotel, you won't be disappointed by this nice home stay!
